What we do
carinsurance-near.com turns public data into clear cost estimates. We combine state average premiums from the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC), state insurance department rules, vehicle loss data from the Highway Loss Data Institute (HLDI), NHTSA vehicle and safety data, Census Bureau community data and FEMA's National Risk Index into estimates for 51 states and districts, 624 cities and 751 car models.
What we don't do
- We are not an insurance company, agent or broker, and we do not sell insurance.
- We do not give quotes or collect your personal information to pass to insurers.
- We do not rank or recommend insurance companies and do not accept payment for placement. Agency listings come from open map data and are shown for convenience only.
Why estimates, and how to use them
Real premiums depend on details only an insurer sees. Our estimates are built to answer the questions people ask before they shop: Is my city expensive? How much more will a teen driver cost? Is this car cheaper to insure than that one? Use them to set expectations and compare options, then get quotes from licensed insurers or agents.
